Who am I

My name is Jackie Goldman (they/them), and I am running for city council because we need politicians who will fight for our communities. For too long, Providence has been plagued by corrupt politicians who give tax breaks to their rich friends while regular people pay more and more. We pay more in housing costs, more in taxes, while we get worse education, worse city services and crumbling infrastructure.

I believe that Ward 5 deserves more. As a community activist, public health worker, and AmeriCorps alumn, I know what it takes to make a change and to do it with integrity. We can create more affordable housing, we can repair the streets and sidewalks, we can fight to end the State take over of the Providence Public Schools and return the schools back to the people of Providence. We can raise revenue for the city without only burdening working people. I also believe that we need to use every local tool possible to fight against the cruelty of the Federal administration.

Mi nombre es Jackie Goldman (elle) estoy postulando para conejal porque necesitamos políticos que lucharán para nuestros comunidades. Demasiado tiempo, Providence has estado plagada de polícos corruptos quienen conceden exenciones fiscales a sus amigos ricos quando la gente pagan mas y mas. Pagamos mas para la vivienda, mas para los taxes, mientras recibimos peor educación, peores servicios municipales e infraestructuras en ruinas.

Creo que Ward 5 merece más. activiste comunitario, profesional de la salud público, y ex alumne de AmeriCorp, sé lo implica hacer un cambio y hacerlo con integridad. podemos crear más viviendas asequibles y de bajo costo, podemos reparar las calles y las aceras, podemos luchar para poner fin a la toma de control estatal de las Escuelas Públicas de Providence y devolver las escuelas a la gente de Providence.
